Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is a game adaptation of the manga television series. The game offers players a chance to get into the action instead of just watching it on TV. All the game action takes place in an arena where the player’s avatar has to battle Titans. The game’s object is to eliminate the Titans, which are huge and creepy humanoid creatures.

The game is a creation of the Koei Tecmo. It is available on Microsoft Windows, but you can also play it on PS4, PS3, and Xbox One. The game puts you against several ruthless enemies.

Battle of the Titans

Wings of Freedom retells the story of the first season of the anime from which it is based. The creator did not spin off the narrative and instead adapted it just the way it is. Players will see some new background scenes, but the story is the same.

You have to battle Titans, which you can only kill if you hit them at the nape of their necks. If you chop off their heads, another one grows back to replace that one. The limbs also grow back when chopped off. To defeat the Titans, the game offers Omni-Directional mobility Gear. This is a device that can turn a soldier into a flying spiderman.

The game is interesting as it offers several battlegrounds, including cities, plains, and forests. These backgrounds make the game more exciting for players. To kill a Titan, your gaming avatar must fly into its back and then use all the energy they have to deliver a huge blow at the nape of their neck. After the death blow, the screen seems to stop as blood sputters from the giant’s head and the term “Complete Subjugation” appears on the screen, showing your victory.

Gamers do not have to go straight for the throat. Chopping off the limbs ensure that the Titan is not in a position to grab you before another limb grows. It also makes the nape more accessible.

The game allows up to four platers to be engaged in the game. However, the four players cannot team up against the Titans as each player chooses the mission they need. As you kill more Titans, you get more powerful gear to help you in your missions. Each mission takes place in a different background, which is one of the reasons the gameplay is interesting.

The Gameplay

The game controls are easy. Use your computer mouse and navigation buttons to move towards the red dots as shown on the map. From there, latch on a Titan or chop off its limbs. Hit the attack button aiming for the nape.

If you loved Attack the Titans the anime series, you will enjoy the gameplay. Otherwise, the gameplay may feel redundant. You will have more powerful weapons to attack the Titans, but that is all you do throughout the game.

The game offers different levels from the most basic to the S-rank. However, once you understand the mission, you can get to the S-rank within a short time. The battle will be thrilling, but it does not get more challenging than that.

If you play brief sessions, the game is intoxicating. You can play it for many years, especially if you love the anime series, if you do not extend playing for hours. If you have not watched the anime series, it would be better to watch it first to enjoy the game more.
